Short Biography

Miguel F. M. Lima was born at 1963, graduated with the ‘Licenciatura’ degree (1986) in Electronics and Telecommunications at the University of Aveiro, Msc. degree (1997) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the “Instituto Superior Técnico” of the Technical University of Lisbon and PhD. degree (2009) in Electrical Engineering at the University of Coimbra. During 1986-1988 he worked as Engineer at the Portuguese Telecom. During 1988-1998 he worked as Engineer at the Portuguese Aeronautical Company. During 1989-1994 he had a Scholarship at the National Institute of Industrial Engineering and Technology where he developed a Flexible Manufacturing Cell. Since 1998 he is with the School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, Department of Electrical Engineering, where is a Professor.

Research Interests

The main research work is on the areas of Robotics, Automation, Instrumentation, Real Time Processing, Nonlinear Dynamics, Control, and Fractional Calculus.
